We got the Patty Melt, Greek Burger, and Greek Fries. I didn't see any desserts on the menu so I asked if they had anything and we ended up ordering a slice of Baklava Cheesecake. "I knew from the moment my friends and I sat down at our table that this place is something special. The host addressed us ASAP and our waitress was not far behind. That's who let us know that this is a family-owned restaurant, with the owner being from Greece... And low and behold, the host was his son and our waitress was his wife. We asked about how the restaurant came to be and how their family ended up in Sonora and it was such a beautiful love story. It was obvious that their love for each other and Greek food is embedded into every inch of their restaurant and every bite of their food. Beyond that, their food was absolutely delicious. I couldn't settle on just one item so I went with their Greek sampler plate and a salad. The sampler plate came with grilled pita, hummus, tzatziki, spicy feta, and dolmadas for roughly $17. I ate every single bite of what I ordered. Everything was as fresh as can be and it was clear that it was all homemade. My friends were just as impressed with their food and we couldn't stop raving about it even after we left. My friends live in the area and expressed how they will definitely be returning. Heck, same if I ever find myself back in Sonora. This is exactly the type of establishment I want to support and I can't recommend it enough!" Jayme H.

"This place is amazing and the real deal! We stopped in not super hungry and decided to share the lemon chicken plate, but after tasting how good it was, we couldn’t help ordering more. The grilled octopus was super flavorful and tender, and we finished with the blueberry bougatsa, which was the perfect sweet ending. The owner, Yianni, was walking around checking on tables and making sure everyone was happy. Great food, great service — we’ll definitely be back to try more!  Update 11/10: We came back for breakfast! 🤣 The pancakes had the perfect crispy edges and were nice and fluffy. The zorba breakfast bowl came in a waffle bowl and was also super flavorful and unique. Darlene was our server and she was amazing!! It was my boyfriend’s birthday and she even brought out a scoop of ice cream with a candle. I would recommend this place over and over again." S.Estrada

"Walking into this place it is decorated so cute. The music is softly playing that creates a beautiful Greek ambiance. The staff is so sweet and friendly giving you a nice family vibe. Like you are in their family's dining room ready for an authentic Greek food experience. The food!! Wow!! Just perfect. From the pita and sauces to the chicken skewers and Greek fries! So, so good. My daughter wasn't up for Greek food so ordered a Hamburger for only $11 and it was HUGE with lots of fries.... She loved it.
At the end the cook, possibly owner, who looked like he knew exactly what he was doing came out to see how we liked everything! What a great experience! We are coming back, no question. ....

We ordered the shrimp plate served with pita, tzatziki and Greek rice ,calamari and one of the Greek specialties, the spanakopita dinner. All the dishes were tasty, great service with Greek background music. Thanks to the owner Yianni for bringing this gem to Sonora and to his wife Karen who does the baking.  "It was a true gift to be able to dine at Yianni’s Grill. The service, food, and experience is unmatched. As soon as you walk into the door you are greeted by someone and it feels as though you are immersing yourself into the culture with this dining experience. We saw the owner Mr. Yianni walking around talking to different tables and being extremely friendly. We had dinner here and the food was phenomenal. After every bite my palate kept asking for more. The way everything melts in your mouth is euphoric. This place was so delicious that I decided to come back again for breakfast a couple days later for my birthday to see what their breakfast had to offer. It was another phenomenal experience. The host Darlene was extremely friendly and so was the rest of the staff. They gave me a small scoop of ice cream and sang a quick happy birthday. This place is honestly one of the best dining experiences that I’ve had for whatever my opinion is worth to whoever is reading this. Best Greek food I have ever had and it’s in the middle of Sonora California, who would’ve knew? If you’re in the area, give it a try. You won’t be disappointed. Thank you Yianni and Yianni’s team.
